College of Nursing Shines in National Research Conference

Thirty three (33) senior students and four (4) faculty attended the 8th National Nursing Research Conference of the Philippine Nursing Research Society, Inc. (PNRSI) at the Bayfront Hotel, Cebu City on November 26-27, 2015.  This annual gathering of professional and student nurse researchers had for its theme “Stories from the Field: Lessons and Challenges in Research Methodology.”

Led by the Dean, Dr. Rosana Grace Belo-Delariarte, the students presented  six (6) student researches through podium and poster.  Adjudged Best Poster, Student Category was the study entitled “Reasons Why Women Choose Homebirth” conducted by Mary Angelie P. Andrino, Iris Hope H. Balasoto, Mhelsie Kathrine Zhandee G. Bono, John Laurence G. Casa, Kathereen R. Canindo and Ryan Michael F. Oducado (Adviser).

Meanwhile, Dr. Belo-Delariarte was elected to the Board of Trustees of the PNRSI. Garnering the highest number of votes among the candidates, she shall serve in the Board for three (3) years.

The Philippine Nursing Research Society Inc. is a specialty nursing group in the Philippines dedicated to the promotion of nursing research. WVSU College of Nursing has participated in its annual conference since 2008 when it was held for the first time in General Santos City.
