Slavery in some countries serves as debt bondage and is obliged to offer servitude with their masters. It projects an image of big earrings and handcuffs and has to be bought and sold with prices or through bidding.
Slavery at WVSU- ECHC marked during the Initiation Day last July 12, 2013. College of Students Council initiated the event with theme: “Make Friendship With “. During the said event, all freshmen got their stunning looks in their jeans and white shirts attire with matching eye glasses. By their appearance, none would ever think that they were slaves. The one who’s the fastest to raise their arms after the countdown could claim their chosen slaves. Master had the command over them and as slaves, they were obliged to serve and pass every trial handed to them by their masters. The capital starts at Php.20. Master and slaves could be partners to reach the amount of Php.100 until the cut –off time around 2:00 pm. It was a “Kanya- Kanyang Diskarte” on how to produce the money. Carmenia Quesada of BSED – Math 2 made a box written in it the word “DONATION” .She let her slaves sing in front of some students just for a small amount of money. The accumulated will be used with the CSC proposed projects.

“From a dream a university grew,” this was the first line taken from the university hymn of West Visayas State University, through the unwavering effort of the former Honorable Board Member Emilio Yulo III, the dream to establish the first state university in the city of Himamaylan was fulfilled.
The first academic year of West Visayas State University Extension Campus at Himamaylan City( WVSU- ECHC) started 2006–2007. The stabilization of the school and the existence of the name of the university was only through the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the local government of Himamaylan City and the Board of Regents of the West Visa between the local government of Himamaylan City and the Academic Affairs of West Visayas State University, La Paz Iloilo City. Every after the expiration of the contract a lot of issues kept on arising. The assurance of the school’s stabilization of the school was still unknown.
