DOST-STII chose WSU as one of its Digitization Project Pilot Centers

The West Visayas State University was chosen by the Department of Science and Technology- Science and Technology Information Institute (DOST-STII) to be one of its pilot centres for its Digitization Project.  Working with other implementing agencies, University of the Philippines (UP), Commission on Higher Education(CHED), and Department of Agriculture (DA), this project aims to establish and develop science and technology databank and library, disseminate science and technology information, take the lead in science and technology information training, in charge of the Digitization and Content Development Component of the Integrated Philippine eLibrary (IPeL) project and promote the widespread use and appreciation of science and technology information.

Along with WVSU, are five (5) other Philippine SUCs namely: Benguet State University (BSU ), Rizal Technological University (RTU), Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU), Central Luzon State University (CLSU), and Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT).
