WVSU Library successfully hosted PLAI-WVRLC(Philippine Librarian's Association Inc. -Western Visayas Region Librarian's Council) Seminar Workshop The WVSU Library staff, headed by the University Librarian, Mrs. Nora P. Rose, successfully facilitated the PLAI-WVRLC Seminar Workshop 2016. The affair was held at the Audio Visual Hall, WVSU, last March 5, 2016, with Dr. Luis A. Abioda opening the program. Read more
Honoring the past, honing the future: bridging history and technology through Libraries, Archives and Museums The University of the Philippines Library Science Association Inc. (UPLSAA) in cooperation with the University of the Philippines School of Library and Information Studies (UP-SLIS) conducted a Seminar on “Honoring the past, honing the future: bridging history and technology through Libraries, Archives and Museums” last April 13-15, 2016, at the Bayleaf Intramuros, Intramuros, Manila. Dr. Baylen donates information materials Dr. Danilo M. Baylen, a faculty member at the University of Georgia, and a visiting Professor at WVSU-College of Education, donated copies of valuable information materials to the University Learning Resource Center last summer 2016. Some of these materials were his works, particularly the “Essentials of teaching and integrating visual and media literacy”, which will surely be a delight to pedagogical pundits and the education students. Honoring the past, honing the future: bridging history and technology through Libraries, Archives and Museums

Mrs. Ortiz, the University Library’s Cataloger, and Mrs. Esposado, one of the Library staff , joined the said Seminar which aimed to help Library, Archives, and Museums (LAMs) recognize their roles in nation building by making the most to harmonize the use of technology and innovative systems in preserving and propagating the nation’s cultural identity;  and to recognize, relearn and reflect on the fundamental and strategic roles of Library, Archives and Museums (LAMs) to give a better perspective and put into context the institutions’ goals and future endeavor.
