General Policies

  • Library Card is required for entrance to the different sections of the University Library and in borrowing of books.
  • A Library Card is issued to all students upon presentation of their Registration Form (RF) and two (2) pieces of identical 1×1 ID picture.
  • Library Card is non-transferable. Misrepresentation by showing someone else’s Library Card is an offense. Students caught doing such act may be deprived of their Library privileges for a period of one (1) week suspension for first offense;  one (1) month suspension for second offense; and indefinite suspension for third offense.
  • Lost Library Card can be replaced upon submission of a duly notarized Affidavit of Loss, official receipt of payment of Php50.00 from the cashier’s Desk and a 1×1 ID picture. Replacement of Library Card maybe issued up to the third time only.
  • Students are required to submit their Library Card to the section assigned to their college at the end of the semester as a requirement for their electronic clearance. It should be validated and claimed at the same section after enrolment.
  • Students are required to wear their official uniform when entering the Library except on Fridays. The Library shall exempt students who belong to Colleges that hold activities upon presentation of a request letter signed by the College Dean. Wearing of sandals, sleeveless blouses, short shorts, and rubber slippers is not allowed.
  • A Letter of Introduction is issued to faculty and students of WVSU who wish to research in other libraries upon filling up of a reservation slip a day before the issuance of the Introductory Letter.
  • The On-Line Public Access Catalog (OPAC) which is the computerized equivalent of the card catalog is for searching use only. Games, encoding, opening, adding, and deleting of other files/programs are strictly prohibited.
  • The use of cell phones inside the Library is strictly prohibited.
  • All WVSU officially enrolled students are allowed to use personal laptops inside the library for encoding of notes only and not for copying from theses and dissertations, provided that the equipment is battery-operated.
  • Other non-WVSU clientele who intend to use the University Library must present a valid ID from their respective institutions / offices where they are enrolled / employed together with a Letter of Introduction from the Librarian or head of office.
