Seven first-year students of the West Visayas State University (WVSU) College of Medicine (COM) have passed the August 2026 Medical Technologist Licensure Examination, with one placing among the top 10 nationwide.
Iris Karn V. Magallanes ranked sixth with a rating of 91.80%, highlighting the strong academic preparation and determination of the seven members of WVSU COM Batch Luminei 2030.
Joining Magallanes among the successful examinees are Rihja Dawn O. Banusing, Antonio Dave Chua III, John Rolie I. Consolacion, Oscar Mari G. Fajardo, Femma Joy A. Padroncillo, and Lyx Jady Fyl N. Perez.
The seven students took the licensure examination on Aug. 15 and 16 alongside 5,634 examinees nationwide. All seven completed their undergraduate studies at the University of San Agustin, graduating in June 2026, before beginning their medical education at WVSU the following month.
Their achievement comes at the very beginning of their journey as medical students, demonstrating the discipline and determination they bring with them as they pursue their medical degrees.
