ADMISSION TO THE WVSU JURIS DOCTOR (J.D.) PROGRAM

Eligibility for Admission:


                Applicants to the WVSU JURIS DOCTOR (J.D.) Program must have obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts or Sciences, or a higher academic degree, from an authorized and recognized higher education institution.  As prescribed  by the Legal Education Board (LEB),   the applicant must have completed at least eighteen (18) units of English, six (6) units of Mathematics, eighteen (18) units of Social Science subjects, and at least three (3) units of a Rizal course.
 
                College of Law Admissions Committee shall take into consideration the applicant’s scholastic records and abilities (interview), entrance exam results, and other relevant factors for admission. The Dean shall be the admitting officer.
 
                The WVSU J.D. Program shall be full-time mode of study to be completed in four (4) years.

Admission Requirements for Academic Year 2020-2021


                The applicant must accomplish the online application form. Please take note that the online application will require the applicant to upload and submit original copies of the following documents:

  1. Photocopy of collegiate transcript of record if graduation is not yet reflected in the transcript, a true copy of grades or a certification of candidacy for graduation is required.
  2. Transfer credentials/Honorable dismissal
  3. Certificate of Live Birth (NSO-generated)
  4. A certificate of good moral character from the college/university (last) attended
  5. Two (2) copies of 2″x 2″ I.D. picture with white background.

All applications must be made online and submitted on or before July 30, 2020

After the successful completion and review of the online application, the applicant will then be notified to pay the fee (Php 300.00) for the Entrance Examination. Entrance examination will be given only once at the WVSU Main Campus 

According to LEB Memorandum Circular No. 52 (Advisory on PhilSAT) dated February 26, 2020, the Legal Education Board has decided to defer the administration of the Philippine Law School Admission Test (PhilSAT) scheduled originally for April 2020. Due to this development, PhilSAT results will no longer be required of WVSU JD applicants; hence, the Entrance Examination.
 
In addition to uploaded documents, the applicant is also required to cause the submission of two recommendations coming from (I) the dean of the applicant’s school or a former professor, and (II) someone, not a relative or friend, who knows the applicant well enough to provide a true character reference. Such recommendations should be accomplished on the required recommendation form. Once completed, these forms must be submitted to WVSU in sealed and signed envelopes.
