GENERAL POLICIES AND GUIDELINES
- Applicants should register through the WVSU ONLINE APPLICATION MODULE.
NOTE: Fill out the form with learner’s information.Registration Period: February 23, 2023 to March 31, 2023
Written Exam:
April 29, 2023 (Saturday) for Kindergarten
May 6, 2023 (Saturday) for Junior and Senior High School
- Application: Submit the hard copy of your requirements to ILS Director’s Office.
- Provide a digital or scanned ID photo of yourself. Make sure to follow the guide for the ID photo requirements.
- Your e-mail address should have your first and last name for easier verification. It could be done using either of the following formats: [email protected] or [email protected]. If none of these formats is available, try adding your birth year or birth date at the end of your e-mail (e.g., [email protected]). If your current e-mail address does not comply with the required format, create a new one using Gmail. The use of a noncomplying e-mail will result in the failure of your application.
- The list of qualified applicants for Online Assessment will be posted on https://www.facebook.com/coe.ils.wvsu. Take note that only applicants who were able to successfully submit their online application will be listed.

A. Kindergarten
Kindergarten pupils desiring admission to West Visayas State University-College of Education-Integrated Laboratory School (WVSU-COE-ILS) should meet the following requirements:
Requirements
- Birth Certificate (issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA))Certified photocopy of original birth certificate from the PSA shall be retained by the school.
- 2 x 2 picture
- Child Progress or Report Card (if applicable)
- Certificate of Employment for employees of the WVSU System (only those with permanent position)
Age: The child must be at least five (5) years old by the 31st day of October 2023 (born between November 1, 2017 and October 31, 2018).
This is in accordance with DepEd Order No. 47, s. 2016 or the Omnibus Policy on Kindergarten Education, which states: “For schools commencing their school year in August, Kindergarten learners should be five (5) years old by August 1 and the extension period shall be until October 31.”
Testing
- The applicant must pass all admission requirements such as paper-pencil test and interview. The interview will be done by a panel of teachers who are designated as interviewers.
- A testing fee of two hundred pesos (P 200.00) will be paid by the qualified online applicants. The Office of the ILS Director will give further instructions regarding the payment process.
- Applicants must also pass the medical-dental examinations that will be conducted by the University Health personnel.
B. Grade 7 (Junior High School)
Requirements
- Birth Certificate (issued by PSA)
- 2 x 2 picture
- Good Moral Certificate
- Form 138 / Form 137 / Copy of grades from Grades 4, 5, and 2nd Quarter of Grade 6
C. Grade 11 (Senior High School)
Requirements
- Birth Certificate (issued by PSA)
- 2 x 2 picture
- Good Moral Certificate
- Form 138 / Form 137 / Copy of grades from Grade 7 up to Second Quarter of Grade 10
- Education Service Contracting (ESC) Certificate (if applicable)
- STEM Score, Science and Math Scores in NCAE (if applicable)
Note: The WVSU-COE-ILS maintains a one-section policy from Kindergarten to Senior High School. Only the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) strand is being offered in the Senior High School. The availability of slots for Grade 7 and Grade 11 will depend on the number of qualified applicants coming from the WVSU-COE-ILS.
Important Reminders:
- Read the instructions carefully before you start using the online application.
- All documentary requirements must be submitted online. Applicants with incomplete requirements will not be considered for evaluation.
- Applicants with existing WVSU IUIS Account (enrolled at WVSU, Main Campus from AY 2009-2010 and onwards) shall only email a Letter of Intent to the College where the applicant wishes to apply.
- Applicant without existing WVSU IUIS Account (graduate of WVSU External Campuses and other schools) shall fill out the IUIS Online Application Module. Please go to www.wvsu.edu.ph/how-to-apply-using-the-online-application-module/ for more info.

II. Criteria for Graduate School Admissions
For Master’s Program
- A bachelor’s degree with a weighted average of 2.0 or its equivalent
- Entrance examination results
- Potential for graduate work and educational leadership based on results of interview
- A graduate of bachelor’s degree program (For College/School of Education, the applicants are education/diploma in teaching graduates or have teaching experience.)
- Physical and medical examination for qualified applicants
For Doctoral Program
- A master’s degree with a GPA of at least 1.75 or its equivalent
- Entrance examination results
- Potential for graduate work and educational leadership based on results of interview
- A graduate of master’s degree program (thesis or non-thesis)
- Physical and medical examination for qualified applicants
III. Requirements:
a. Transcript of Records for Evaluation Purposes only
b. Passport Size Photo
Note: Other Entrance Credentials shall be submitted to the respective College
IV. Application Process
A. Scan or take a photo of your requirement . Have the image files ready for uploading later.
B. Provide a digital/scanned ID photo of yourself. Make sure to follow the Photo ID requirements Guide.
C. Your email address should have your first and last name for easier verification. It could be done on any format. Example: [email protected] or [email protected]. If none of the format is available, try adding your birth year or birthday at the end of your email (e.g. [email protected]). If your current email address does not comply with the required format, create a new one using Gmail. Use of non-complying email will result to failure of your application.
- Go to https://iuis.wvsu.edu.ph/iuis/applicants/
- Click Apply Here
- Fill out all text fields with correct information and select Main Campus in the list of campuses. Make sure to supply the correct email address. You will need that for confirmation later.
- Click Create Account and tick the privacy consent check box.
- An email confirmation will be sent to your inbox together with your temporary login details. Click Continue to proceed to your application.
- Complete Steps 1 to 5 by filling all necessary fields in the application form. Make sure to provide correct details and check each entry for errors. If a field is required and data is not available, input “Not Applicable” or “NA”.
- Upload the image files of the requirements and your ID photo.
- Click Save and Continue afterwards.
- Read the information in the Applicant Certification field and click the Submit Application after reviewing your form.
- The system will send your Application login credentials to your email. You can login and view the notification board and your applicant data. Note: This is different from your temporary account in step 5. Use the username and password to login to the Online Application Module to view/modify your application data.
- Logout in the Online Application Module.
- Check your email regularly for notification emails from the Registrar or College(s) of the program that you applied for.

West Visayas State University is providing unlimited use of MATLAB and Simulink to all students, faculty, staff, and researchers.
According to Prof. Alexander J. Balsomo of the Department of Mathematics, the software can be accessed for free on any device on and off campus.
Users can learn at their own pace, receive instant feedback, and share their progress reports and course certificates.
MATLAB and Simulink cover onramp courses and provide a comprehensive introduction to common features. They are used to combine math applications with computing technologies for computational math courses.
MATLAB has a range of contemporary and advanced topics on deep learning, machine learning, data visualization, programming techniques, and financial applications.
How to sign-in?
- Go to https://www.mathworks.com/.
- Click the sign-in icon on the upper right hand corner of the page.
- Click on the “Create One!” button to create a new MathWorks account using your WVSU email (e.g. [email protected]).
- Verify your email address.
- On the profile page, provide your information to complete the creation of your account, then click save.
- Start working on your MATLAB. You may download and install the software (laptop, desktop or mobile phone).

3. Applicants from WVSU SHS should not use the Online Application Module as they already have an existing IUIS account. Just email all requirements and the letter of intent for admission to [email protected]
4. Take a portrait photo of yourself following the Photo ID Requirements Guide.
The photograph must:
a. be passport standard (35x45mm)
b. Pixels: 350 x 450 pixels minimum
c. be in portrait orientation (i.e., higher than it is wide)
d. be taken with your eyes open and clearly visible (no sunglasses or tinted glasses and no hair across your eyes)
e. show your full head (70 to 80% of the photograph), without any head covering unless you wear one for religious beliefs or medical reasons
f. show you on your own
g. be in colour
h. be taken within the last 12 months
i. be clear and in sharp focus, with a clear difference between your face and a plain light background.
The image should be less than 5 MB in size and in JPG/JPEG format. Most digital cameras and smartphones save photographs as a JPG/JPEG file. You can find the file size of the image by right clicking the file and selecting “Properties”.
A photograph not meeting the requirements will be rejected. Refer to the image resizer guide on how to resize the image file to 5 MB or less.
5. Check your valid email address in this format: [email protected] or [email protected]. If none of the format is available, try adding your birth year or birthday at the end of your email (e.g. [email protected]). Your application will be rejected if you use non-compliant email.
