The West Visayas State University Non-Teaching Personnel Organization, Inc. (WVSU-UNPO) will hold a 2024 Special General Assembly & Fellowship today, December 16, 2024, from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM.
In accordance to Pres. Memo No. 24-374, please be advised that all non-teaching personnel from Main and CAF campus will be off-duty this afternoon.
Thus, all concerned are required to log-in/log- out in the morning and log-in in the afternoon. Heads of offices/units should maintain a skeleton workforce (JOs/COs) to ensure that university services will not be hampered. Please be guided accordingly.

The West Visayas State University is happy to announce that it will be accepting pioneer applicants for its WESTMed (WVSU Expedited Track for Medicine) program starting Academic Year 2025-2026.
WESTMed is an innovative seven-year Doctor of Medicine course offering that will reduce the traditional medical program by two years.
Basic requirements to qualify for application are the following:
Interested parties must apply through WVSU’s Integrated University Information System
(IUIS – https://iuis.wvsu.edu.ph/iuis/applicants/).
Applicants must select their top three (3) priority courses other than WESTMed and submit their application to get a permanent applicant number. After completing all required information, the applicant must fill up and register via form below.

The Philippine National Flag is flown half-mast at West Visayas State University in observance of Presidential Proclamation No. 728, declaring today, November 4, 2024, as a Day of National Mourning for the victims of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine. Earlier today, the College of Education spearheaded the flag raising ceremony wherein the attendees were asked to pause for a moment of silence and to offer their prayers and sympathies for the storm victims and their families. Dr. Peter Ernie Paris, Vice President for Administration and Finance, also encouraged the administrative personnel to facilitate and mobilize relief assistance initiatives for the storm victims. According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council report released last October 30, Severe Tropical Storm Kristine left a death toll of 145 and has affected over 7 million Filipinos nationwide.

The WVSU Finance Office (Main Campus) would like to inform all students that direct payment of tuition and other school fees at SM Payment Centers will no longer be available starting September 30, 2024.
However, you can still make payments at SM Bills Payment by using Dragonpay through the University’s Integrated University Information System (IUIS).

West Visayas State University (WVSU) ranks first among universities in the Western Visayas region, fourth in the Visayas, and 18th among Philippine universities in the July 2024 Webometrics Ranking of World Universities released recently. According to its website, the Webometrics Ranking is an initiative of the Cybermetrics Lab, a research group that belongs to the largest public research body in Spain, the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC). The objective is to rank universities based on impact or online visibility, transparency or open access initiatives, and excellence or quality of electronic publications. WVSU has retained its number one ranking in Region VI from the Webometrics of July 2022, though it went a notch lower this year in the Philippine university rankings. Among the criteria, WVSU performed worldwide with a rank of 13,005 for impact, 5,466 for openness, and 5,267 for excellence. WVSU trails behind University of San Carlos, Visayas State University, and Cebu Technological University in the whole of Visayas, while it leads in the Western Visayas region and is closely followed by the University of the Philippines Visayas.
