Internationalization
The Public Affairs and Marketing Communications Office (PAMCO) is only entering its second year because it was created as a separate unit only on Nov. 22, 2021, where Leo Almonte was the first PACO Director. PACO was later changed to PAMCO on Feb.7, 2022. In July 2023, Dr. Hazel P. Villa became the OIC PAMCO Director. As of this writing (January 13, 2024), Dr, Hazel P. Villa is appointed Director by the Board of Regents.
PAMCO is responsible for developing and applying the marketing and communications strategies of WVSU. PAMCO coordinates/monitors the dissemination and distribution of marketing
communication collateral of WVSU divisions, offices, units, and colleges for quality assurance and adherence to branding standards.
The office aims to project the institution as contributor to societal transformation by consolidating the marketing communication initiatives of all units on all campuses through a common and unified strategy in content development, marketing campaigns, and public information initiatives; disseminating the milestones and achievements of institution as a whole and the specific members who have excelled in their fields, and ensuring that we target and reach the right audiences and stakeholders in communicating our institutional `successes.
PAMCO works closely with the partner units such as the MIS to ensure that best practices and
industry standards in marketing communications are followed. The partnership
includes consultation on technology and digitization, collaboration on special projects in branding, merchandising, campaign and advocacy, and quality assurance and monitoring.
Despite the novelty of the office, in the span of 2 years, the Public Affairs and Marketing Communication Office (PAMCO) at WVSU has achieved notable successes, notably the following: the production of the WVSU institutional version of the National Anthem version, the PAMCO Handbook, and Brandbook highlighting a commitment to professional standards.
In striving for excellence, PAMCO’s best practices include consistent social and tri-media engagement that has resulted in greater national and international visibility for WVSU and the creation of informative media kits and brochures.
These key takeaways emphasize PAMCO’s dedication to maintaining high standards, fostering engagement, addressing challenges, and seizing opportunities to enhance WVSU’s image and communication strategies.
