On March 9, 2024, Dr. Joselito F. Villaruz delivered a message during the Regional Mass Oath-Taking of successful passers of the 2023 Licensure Examination for Agriculturists at Grand Xing Imperial Hotel. Dr. Villaruz highlighted that as agriculturists of this generation, they play a key role as mobilizers, steering our region towards a bountiful economy.
West Visayas State University (WVSU), in collaboration with the Embassy of Canada hosted the Marshall McLuhan Forum Series on Responsible Media. The event, held at the University Cultural Center on March 8, 2024, focuses on “Freedom and the Free Press: The Role of Journalists in Critical Public Discourse and Accountability in the Post-Truth Era in the Philippines.” The forum features veteran journalist Ms. Karmina Constantino as the resource speaker.

Dr. Joselito F. Villaruz formally commenced his second term and took his oath as the 8th President of West Visayas State University (WVSU) during a ceremony at the WVSU Cultural Center on Thursday, Jan. 25.
West Visayas State University (WVSU) is among the partner state universities and colleges (SUCs) undertaking the collaborative Cultural Mapping of Panay and Guimaras Project (CMPG), a priority cultural initiative led by Senate President Pro Tempore Loren Legarda.
WVSU President Dr. Joselito F. Villaruz, along with other SUC presidents, signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) during the Project Launch and MOA signing at the Little Theater, University of the Philippines Visayas, Iloilo City campus on the morning of December 14, 2023.
WVSU is tasked with the Cultural Mapping of Iloilo City and Iloilo’s 3rd District.

Embodying the tradition of excellence, the West Visayas State University-La Paz Campus has proudly recorded 32 new registered agriculturists as a result of the November 2023 Agriculturists Licensure Examination (ALE).
The university jotted down a 46.38% rate in overall performance out of 69 takers; 52.17% passing rate for first timers; and 34.78% passing rate for repeaters.
The West Visayas State University takes pride in its commitment to nurturing skilled professionals in agriculture and congratulates the 32 newly registered agriculturists on their well-deserved success.
The WVSU maintains its streak of excellence as seven graduates of the COE main campus and two from the Himamaylan campus made it to the Top 10 of the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT).
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) released the results past 6 p.m. of Dec. 7, 2023.
WVSU is not in the TOP 10 schools because only schools with 50 examinees and above are qualified in the ranking of schools.
Most of the COE graduates will be taking the LET in March 2023.
PRC announced that 23,782 elementary teachers out of 50,593 examinees (47.01%) and 53,995 secondary teachers out of 95,969 examinees (56.26%) successfully passed the LEPT.
It is further announced that of the 23,782 elementary teacher passers, 16,716 are first timers and 7,066 are repeaters. For the secondary teachers, 39,979 passers are first timers and 14,016 are repeaters.
