West Visayas State University (WVSU) proudly honors the remarkable achievement of its student innovators from the College of Information and Communications Technology (CICT) who clinched the 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻 title at the 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗽 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 (𝗣𝗦𝗖) 𝗫 with their startup, 𝗗𝗜𝗔𝗦𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧—an AI-driven platform that predicts the risk of Diabetic Retinopathy using routine lab biomarkers.

The DIASIGHT team, composed of Bachelor of Science in Information Systems (BSIS) students 𝗝𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘄 𝗗𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗼 (𝗖𝗘𝗢), 𝗝𝗲𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹 (𝗖𝗧𝗢), and 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗹𝗲𝘆 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 (𝗖𝗠𝗢), delivered an exceptional performance that earned them not only the championship title but also two major distinctions:
