A delegation from Capiz State University (CAPSU) visited West Visayas State University (WVSU) on April 10, 2025, to explore best practices in alumni engagement and development programs.
The CAPSU team, led by Prof. Davidica L. Avelino, Director of Alumni and Community Affairs, included several alumni chairpersons from various CAPSU campuses: Judith L. Vista (Mambusao), Christy Agnas (Pontevedra), Julie Ann L. Bundala (Tapaz), Mark Anson A. Unarce (Sigma), Rimark Camulo (Roxas Main), Rollen G. Ternura (Dumarao), Deolinda B. Delamide (Pilar), and Kenneth Delfin, Alumni Coordinator for Dayao campus.
The visitors met with Dr. Ma. Pilar S. Malata, Dean of the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), Professor Bonifacio Gaverza, President of the WVSU Federated Alumni Association, and Ms. Ludylie S. Buendia, Vocational Placement Coordinator. The discussion focused on several key areas, including strategies to improve employability retrieval rates, develop effective alumni tracking systems, and enhance networking opportunities for graduates.
A particular highlight of the visit was the discussion about WVSU’s federated alumni structure, which includes external campuses and organizes a variety of alumni activities.
The visit marked a significant step toward strengthening the relationship between the two universities, and both institutions expressed their commitment to future collaboration in alumni engagement and development initiatives.
