On a bright Monday morning of June 3, 2017 when the sun rays filtered through the clouds, signaling the end of the rain, 32 excited faculty of the West Visayas State University took their oath of office as permanent employees during a short ceremony held at the Unity Park.
According to the university’s Human Resource and Management Office (HRMO), WVSU is bent on hiring 128 plantilla positions for academic year 2017-2018 in preparation for educators who will teach additional subjects as mandated by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). WVSU President Dr. Luis M. Sorolla, Jr. declared that the university is continuously screening qualified applicants for the teaching and non-teaching positions.
Dr. Ma. Elfleda R. Ecube, President of the WVSU Faculty Association beamed as she looked admiringly at the rows of new teachers. “Congratulations to the newly hired faculty members. You are now where you are because the university believes that you are highly qualified and competent to join the workforce of WVSU’s esteemed educators. Be a role model of your respective college and continue to uphold the university’s foundation of excellence”.
