Keeping up with its tradition of excellence, WVSU garnered recognition at the 2nd CHED Regional Quality Awards held at the Cultural Center last May 19, 2023.
The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office (CHEDROVI) is celebrating its 3rd National Higher Education Day and CHED’s 29th Founding Anniversary from May 15-19, 2023. The 2nd CHED Regional Quality Awards are part of its activity that “aims to acknowledge the efforts and initiatives of the higher education institutions (HEIs) in areas of instruction, research, and community extension, based on the respective CHED Memorandum Orders”.
WVSU received the following awards:
- Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings 3-Star Rating
- Top 46 HEI in the Philippines by EduRank
- Top 1 Performing School in the November 2022 Nursing Licensure Examinations
- Top 8 Performing School in the October 2022 Physician Licensure Examination
- Best Research
- Best Internationalization Implementation
- Best Implementer of CHED Memorandum Order No. 6, Series of 2022: Sustaining Flexible Learning in Higher Education.
Dr. Raul C. Alvarez, CHED Regional Office VI Director, gave the opening remarks while Atty. Cinderella Filipina S. Benitez-Jaro, CHED Executive Director IV, imparted an inspirational message. Engineer Rex C. Casiple, PhD, concluded the event with his closing remarks.
WVSU President Dr. Joselito F. Villaruz, VP of Administration & Finance Dr. Porferio J. Barlas Jr., VP of Medical & Allied Sciences Dr. Celina C. Gellada, VP of Research, Extension & Training Dr. Greta G. Gabinete, URDC Director Dr. Ryan Michael Oducado, and Student Regent Hershey Geline Sumpay accepted the awards on behalf of the university during the ceremony.
