West Visayas State University formalized partnership with Biorisk Association of the Philippines Inc.

West Visayas State University (WVSU) formalized a partnership with the Biorisk Association of the Philippines Inc. (BRAP2015) through a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed Nov. 13 at the WVSU Boardroom. The agreement aims to enhance biosafety practices, promote research collaborations, and foster a culture of safety across all campuses.

Under the MOU, WVSU and BRAP will implement programs to improve biosafety protocols, support collaborative research efforts, and ensure compliance with both national and international safety standards. These initiatives are designed to strengthen the university’s role in advancing modern education through science while emphasizing safety and responsibility.

WVSU President Dr. Joselito F. Villaruz led the signing ceremony, joined by Dr. Celina C. Gellada, Vice President for Medical and Allied Sciences; Dr. Victor A. Amantillo, dean of the College of Medicine, and other university officials, while BRAP was represented by President Dr. Ronaldo E. Puno, Secretary Ariel Angelo B. Aquino, along with other members.

This partnership underscores WVSU’s commitment to maintaining high biosafety standards in its academic and research activities, inviting the entire university community to actively participate in promoting best practices that benefit society today and foster a sustainable future.
