The WVSU College of Law is the first and only state university offering legal education in the Western Visayas Region. Its primary goal is to produce trial-ready and well-trained lawyers who will serve as advocates for the rule of law and champions of justice.
While most schools closed at the height of the pandemic, the venerable halls of WVSU’s Quezon Hall, the oldest building in the University built-in 1924, welcomed the pioneer batch of 30 students to the Juris Doctor Program of the College of Law in August 2020.
Members of the pioneering class hail from various professional backgrounds, including government agencies, the academe, and private businesses, contributing to the growing diversity and expertise of the College of Law.
Law students are guided by a dedicated pool of law professors and practitioners recruited from within and outside the region. The faculty of the College of Law, continually expanding on a semester basis, comprises individuals with various legal expertise and professions, the majority of whom are judges, prosecutors, and expert law practitioners. The faculty roster is led by Dean Atty. Pauline Grace T. Buñol–Alfuente, C.P.A., and Associate Dean Atty. Ian Thomas Moralde Besana, LL.M.
