  • GENERAL INFORMATION ON WVSU UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSIONS for AY 2021-2022

    Important Reminders:

    1. Read the instructions carefully before you start using the online application.

    2. All documentary requirements must be submitted online. Applicants with incomplete requirements will not be considered for evaluation.

    3. Applicants from WVSU SHS should not use the online application module as they already have an existing IUIS account. Just email all requirements and the letter of intent for admission to admission@wvsu.edu.ph

    I. Online Application Period: February 01, 2021 until March 15, 2021.

    II. General Guidelines on Admissions:            

    1. Every applicant for admission to the University degree programs must meet the requirements for admission prescribed by the University and college/campus concerned. Provided, that the quota for number of classes in the program would allow. (Article 125, Section 2, University Code 2013).

    2. Graduates of Philippine high schools accredited by DepEd and foreign high schools may apply and be admitted as first year college students at West Visayas State University, regardless of strand or track.

    3. The WVSUCAT shall be waived for AY 2021 – 2022, and the applicant shall be ranked based on the following:

    a. Grade Weighted Average (GWA)  of Grade 10 and Grade 11 (1st Semester and 2nd Semester) or any equivalent for foreign students

    a.1  Letter or scale grades must be converted to percentage grades(e.g. B+ or 2.0 = 88)

    b. National Career Assessment Examination (NCAE) Overall General Scholastic Aptitude Score

    4. Passing the University Level evaluation does NOT guarantee automatic admission in any of the programs. The applicant shall only be directed to proceed to the respective college or campus at this stage based on their priority courses.

    5.  All applications shall be done through the WVSU Online Application Module.

    III. Requirements:

    1.)  Grade 10 Report Card with General Weighted Average

    2.)  Grade 11 Report Card with General Weighted Average (both 1st and 2nd Semesters)

    3.)   National Career Assessment Examination (NCAE)

    IV. Application Process

    1. Scan or take a photo of your requirements (Grades 10 and 11 Report Cards with GWA and NCAE).  Have the image files ready for uploading later.

     2. Provide a digital/scanned ID photo of yourself. Make sure to follow the Photo ID requirements Guide

    3. Your email address should have your first and last name for easier verification. It could be done on any format. Example:  firstname.lastname@gmail.com or lastname.firstname@gmail.com. If none of the format is available, try adding your birth year or birthday at the end of your email (e.g. firstname.lastname0102@gmail.com). If your current email address does not comply with the required format, create a new one using Gmail.  Use of non-complying email will result to failure of your application.

    Kindly bring the following: black ballpen, No. 2 pencils, eraser, and the exact amount of P300.00 for the admission test. Write your name, email address and contact number in a 2 x 3 – inch piece of paper, and staple it to the P300.00. No exchange of money should take place. The use of cellular phone is prohibited and should be put in silent mode and kept in your bag. All personal belongings will be placed in the front row of your assigned examination room. No wearing of shorts, sleeveless or slippers. Please wear masks and face shields, bring your own alcohol and observe social distancing at all times.

  • ADMISSION TO THE WVSU JURIS DOCTOR (J.D.) PROGRAM

    Eligibility for Admission:


                    Applicants to the WVSU JURIS DOCTOR (J.D.) Program must have obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts or Sciences, or a higher academic degree, from an authorized and recognized higher education institution.  As prescribed  by the Legal Education Board (LEB),   the applicant must have completed at least eighteen (18) units of English, six (6) units of Mathematics, eighteen (18) units of Social Science subjects, and at least three (3) units of a Rizal course.
     
                    College of Law Admissions Committee shall take into consideration the applicant’s scholastic records and abilities (interview), entrance exam results, and other relevant factors for admission. The Dean shall be the admitting officer.
     
                    The WVSU J.D. Program shall be full-time mode of study to be completed in four (4) years.

    Admission Requirements for Academic Year 2020-2021


                    The applicant must accomplish the online application form. Please take note that the online application will require the applicant to upload and submit original copies of the following documents:

    1. Photocopy of collegiate transcript of record if graduation is not yet reflected in the transcript, a true copy of grades or a certification of candidacy for graduation is required.
    2. Transfer credentials/Honorable dismissal
    3. Certificate of Live Birth (NSO-generated)
    4. A certificate of good moral character from the college/university (last) attended
    5. Two (2) copies of 2″x 2″ I.D. picture with white background.

    All applications must be made online and submitted on or before July 30, 2020

    After the successful completion and review of the online application, the applicant will then be notified to pay the fee (Php 300.00) for the Entrance Examination. Entrance examination will be given only once at the WVSU Main Campus 

    According to LEB Memorandum Circular No. 52 (Advisory on PhilSAT) dated February 26, 2020, the Legal Education Board has decided to defer the administration of the Philippine Law School Admission Test (PhilSAT) scheduled originally for April 2020. Due to this development, PhilSAT results will no longer be required of WVSU JD applicants; hence, the Entrance Examination.
     
    In addition to uploaded documents, the applicant is also required to cause the submission of two recommendations coming from (I) the dean of the applicant’s school or a former professor, and (II) someone, not a relative or friend, who knows the applicant well enough to provide a true character reference. Such recommendations should be accomplished on the required recommendation form. Once completed, these forms must be submitted to WVSU in sealed and signed envelopes.

    Diploma in Early Childhood Education (DECE) and Certificate Credential in Early Childhood Education (CECE)

    • Certificate Credential in Early Childhood Education (CECE) – an 18-unit certificate course intended for High School graduates and those who graduated in associate courses who would like to become paraprofessional teachers or teacher aide.
    • Diploma in Early Childhood Education (DECE), a 33-unit diploma course in ECE for graduates of four-year-degree courses who would like to teach in the Early Childhood Program.

    NEW STUDENT APPLICANTS – Online application for the Diploma in ECE (DECE) and Certificate Credential in ECE (CECE) is open from July 1 to July 30, 2020.

    Requirement for Admission:

    1. Fill out the application form using the IUIS Online Application Module. Please go to /www.wvsu.edu.ph/how-to-apply-using-the-online-application-module/ for more information.
    2. Upon application, you are asked to present the following:

    For DECE Applicants:

    • Original and certified true copy of Transcript of Records (TOR) – (Undergraduate, Post Baccalaureate or Graduate)

    Note: For graduates of private higher education, the Transcript of Records is validated by a Special order from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

    • Honorable Dismissal/Transfer Credential – original (if not a WVSU graduate)

    For CECE Applicants:

    • Senior High School Card or Undergraduate TOR (uncompleted course) with original Honorable Dismissal
    • Accepted applicants who are eligible to enroll this incoming school year must submit the following on the first day of class:
      • Permit to Study from Employer (if applicable)
      • PSA/NSO Birth Certificate (machine copy)
      • PSA/NSO Marriage Certificate (machine copy for married student)
      • 2 pcs. 1 x 1 ID picture
      • 2 pcs. long white folder
