The WVSU administration, deans of colleges, directors, and heads of various offices are holding an annual Performance Review for FY 2023 and the Midterm Review of the WVSU Strategic Development Plan 2021-2025 on December 5-7, 2023, at the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) Building.
The theme of the review is “Fortifying Research and Innovation Programs Towards Becoming a Research University”.
The said activities provide the university with an opportunity to reflect on its collective achievements and challenges and is a venue to discuss shared goals and strategies for the future.
Currently presenting this afternoon of Dec. 5, 2023 is the College of Information Communication and Communications and Technology led by Dean Beth Concepcion.
Earlier today, the following presented their reports: the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the College of Education, and the College of PESCAR.

College of Nursing Batch 2023, topnotchers, and profs recognized in furst Monday of the month flag ceremony
Following its triumph of achieving a 100 percent passing rate, ranking first among the Top 10 Nursing Schools in the country, and producing topnotchers, the College of Nursing (CON) received acknowledgment in today’s flag ceremony (Dec. 4, 2023).
No less than WVSU President Joselito Villaruz introduced CON Batch 2023, also known as Batch Hydra, who came forward with their professors and CON Dean Madonna Palmes to be recognized by the WVSU Community for their accomplishment in the 2023 Philippine Nurses Licensure Examinations (PNLE).The results, announced on Dec. 2, 2023, revealed the following topnotchers:
Rank 1: Cris Vinz Corpuz Tomboc – 91.00%
Rank 8: Dennyl Marie Pelaez Chavez – 89.60%
Rank 9: Pert Henry Gabutin Mabaquiao – 89.40%
Rank 10: Jannah Kyra Jalando-on Javelona – 89.20%
This marks the first time that the CON has produced a first placer in the PNLE.
Edited: The CON has had first placers in 1984, 1993, 2017, and 2019 who are all females but it is in 2023 that it produced a male topnotcher.
This month’s flag ceremony was led by the College of Business and Management.
