Yokohama counterparts visit College of Nursing for collab on maternal and child health care transcultural exchange program.

With the WVSU’s College of Nursing (CON) collaborating with the Global Health Program in Nursing 2023 with Yokohama City University, it welcomed its Japanese counterparts this morning, Sept. 8, 2023, at the CON Amphitheater.

The focus of the discussions were maternal and child health care. Among the topics expounded by the Japanese counterparts were Japan’s Healthcare Care system and Maternal Health in Japan.

On WVSU CON’s side, Richard Olano, a level 4 nursing student, talked about “Unveiling Realities: Landscape of Maternal and Child Health in PH” while Janna Yson, a level 2 nursing student, discussed “MalaSAKIT: A review and update of the PH Health Care Delivery System”.

The Japanese visitors from Yokohama City University were composed of three members of the faculty, two directors of birth centers, two midwifery students, 10 nursing students, and one interpreter.
