The West Visayas State University Medical Center – Out-Patient Department joined Iloilo City’s first ever celebration of “Diabetes Awareness Week”, with a theme, “Diabetes Expose- Alamin Ang Bago At Totoo”. This activity was held last July 17- 24, 2011.

The event was organized by Diabetes Philippines– Western Visayas, headed by Dr. Francis Pasaporte, President, in cooperation with the Philippine Association of Diabetes Educators and Association of Diabetic Nurse Educators of the Philippines– Western Visayas Group (PADE/ ADNEP), with their president Shirley Tubongbanua, RND. This affair aimed to provide social interactions that will empower the Ilonggos to help manage and spread information about Diabetes.
