Following its triumph of achieving a 100 percent passing rate, ranking first among the Top 10 Nursing Schools in the country, and producing topnotchers, the College of Nursing (CON) received acknowledgment in today’s flag ceremony (Dec. 4, 2023).

No less than WVSU President Joselito Villaruz introduced CON Batch 2023, also known as Batch Hydra, who came forward with their professors and CON Dean Madonna Palmes to be recognized by the WVSU Community for their accomplishment in the 2023 Philippine Nurses Licensure Examinations (PNLE).

The results, announced on Dec. 2, 2023, revealed the following topnotchers:

Rank 1: Cris Vinz Corpuz Tomboc – 91.00%

Rank 8: Dennyl Marie Pelaez Chavez – 89.60%

Rank 9: Pert Henry Gabutin Mabaquiao – 89.40%

Rank 10: Jannah Kyra Jalando-on Javelona – 89.20%

This marks the first time that the CON has produced a first placer in the PNLE.

Edited: The CON has had first placers in 1984, 1993, 2017, and 2019 who are all females but it is in 2023 that it produced a male topnotcher.

This month’s flag ceremony was led by the College of Business and Management.
