Dr. Joselito Villaruz, Chair of the Technical Panel for Medicine, gave a message at the Association of Philippine Medical Colleges Incorporated (APMCi) and Philippine Medical Association’s summit on ‘Designing a Fit-for-Purpose Primary Care Curriculum for Basic Medical Education.

 

The event aimed to develop a curriculum that meets the Philippines’ evolving healthcare needs, aligning with Universal Health Care principles.

Dr. Joselito Villaruz presided over the 2nd Administrative Council Meeting, which was attended by the key officials of West Visayas State University (WVSU).

 

The Administrative Council seeks to tackle key issues affecting the university. The meeting aimed to address concerns and make decisions on various matters.

Dr, Joselito Villaruz was conferred with the prestigious Dr. Jose Rizal Award (Academe) of the Philippine Medical Association on May 18, 2024 at the SMX Convention Center in Clark, Pampanga.

 

This distinguished recognition is a testament to his outstanding contributions to medical education and his commitment to shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Dr. Joselito F. Villaruz attended the National Summit to commemorate the country’s “National Higher Education Day” (NHED) on May 18, 2024.

 

The event’s highlight is the report by Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Chairman, J. Prospero “Popoy” E. De Vera III, to President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., and key stakeholders, highlighting the significant milestones achieved by CHED over the past 30 years.

Dr. Joselito Villaruz discussed curriculum innovation at the Quality Assurance Conclave for Higher Education Leaders, a collaboration between Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID)’s UP SKILL Program at Sofitel Plaza Hotel, Metro Manila.

 

The conclave provides a platform for HEIs to discuss quality assurance processes and enhancement in curriculum design.
